Huawei unveils tables, cloud-based phones

Huawei Devices released cloud-based feature mobilephones, smartphones, and the ‘MediaPad’, customized for the Indian market.

Huawei has released two smartphones – Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3 – both setted up on its ‘Cloud+’ service which enables users 16 GB cloud disk for storage and multi devices access.

The mobilephones offer more affluent messaging characteristics with Message+ to share text and images, Phone Finder to locate, back-up and secure the devices, a variety of Huawei Apps, and the Cloud+ services for content sharing.

Huawei’s 3G feature-phone U5510, arrives with the ‘WiFi Hotspot’ characteristic where the mobilephone can be utilised as a router to connect with several wireless phones and multiple users can get access to the internet on their phones.

7-inch tablet

Huawei MediaPad, a seven-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb-based tablet, is driven by Qualcomm’s dual-core 1.2GHz processor.

Huawei is aiming at the tier-2 and tier-3cities for the characteristic phones and tier-1 and tier-2 cities for the smartphones and the MediaPad, Mr Anand Narang, Marketing Director at Huawei Devices, told Business Line.

“With these releases, we anticipate to sell over a lakh smart and convenient phones in India this year, and expect about 30 percent increase in incomes over last year,” he said. “We anticipate being present in over 35 cities and about 2,500 smartphone outlets by end of the year,” he added.

Huawei has furthermore kept close relationship with online retailers for example Tradus and Flipkart to sell the products. The goods, though designed mainly for the Indian market, furthermore plans to spread around, for example Brazil, Japan, China, the US and the UK over the approaching months.

Huwaei went into the Indian smartphone market about six months ago and has 10 products to offer today. It anticipates adding another 15 goods across smartphones, feature telephones, datacards and tablets by the end of next year, Mr Narang said.
